What would we do without our phones these days? Perhaps the better question is “What can’t we do with our phones these days?” With apps for just about everything it isn’t surprising that programs for the lighting industry are popping up all over the place. One of our favorite recent releases is the GE Mood Cam™ app which allows users to snap a photo of a room in their home and use the app’s built-in “GE Moodometer™” to adjust the image to show what it might look like with different types of lighting effects.

Other apps are available to perform cool functions such as controlling stage lighting, potentially vanquishing the need for multiple remotes and controls. As smartphones continue to gain popularity and become the norm you can certainly expect to see an increase in these types of clever programs for a variety of different lighting control functions.

Know of any great lighting apps? Please share! We’d love to learn more about what you’ve discovered.
